I try to never spend a day without exercise in some form. Hiking, walking and enjoying being outdoors, gym classes, reading, music, dancing, singing, meeting new people, and listening to their stories are some things I enjoy doing. (Let me just qualify that I don’t claim to be good at the singing and dancing bit!) I respectfully acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung people and Wurundjeri willam people as the Traditional Owners of the land on which I spend most of my time. I know its mushy right? But I don’t apologize for saying it because it’s true!!! Life comes with many adventures; over the years I have had plenty but there are some we undertake for the purpose of challenging ourselves. I have participated in the K4 Challenge of the Massive Murray Paddle. When the adventure includes helping others I am even more enthusiastic! I have also completed the 100 km Oxfam Trail walker 5 times – a life-changing experience where every step you take is to raise vital funds to support the underprivileged and local communities (once you have completed 5 Oxfam’s, you’re considered a legend – Yay, that’s me!) I also have recently been fortunate enough to have completed the Camino Frances . Most of my working life has been spent working within Bakers Delight, where I have done everything from baking the bread, bookkeeping, serving the public, training, building bakeries, and even being part of the team that wrote the recipe book. My sole and ultimate objective is to make the couples feel at ease and the most important part of the ceremony. The Process. Let me take you through the whole process of how it works: I meet with the client minimum of one month before the wedding date, usually well before this. I explain the entire process for a legal marriage in Australia and complete the initial paperwork. I meet again with my couples to plan the wedding day and learn about how you want your perfect day to be. Rehearsals are conducted with all who are part of the ceremony to ensure they know what is expected of them if you choose to (see packages or speak to me for more detail.) I provide a questionnaire to the marrying couple so I can come up with a personalized script. I attend the wedding day in appropriate attire and will arrive before the guests and bridal party so that I can set up the PA system I carry with me. I will ensure legal forms are filled in correctly and lodge them with birth dates and marriages on the couple’s behalf. I want you to know that I am here to listen and deliver a ceremony the way you know your loved one would want it to be. I will do everything in my power to make it an honorable farewell of the deceased. The Process I meet with the grieving parties to collect as much information as possible about the deceased. I will liaise constantly with your chosen family contact till the day before your ceremony. Suggestions and guidance for the ceremony, suggestions for readings, and tributes are discussed. I will write and present a script for your ceremony that is both personal and appropriate for the person whose life we are celebrating. Liaise with Funeral director to ensure things run smoothly.
